Hi guys, I have a few porsches at the moment (an '81 911 and a '98 Boxster) but really long for a daily driver that has room for my young boys. That said, I found a 1999 996 with just 23k miles and excellent history for 32k. I am attempting to get a loan for a car of that vintage...any suggestions? Most I have found only go as far back as 2001. Rob

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I would try a credit union if you have access to it or take an unsecured loan, the rate may be a little higher than a car loan. also, 23K miles or not, you may do better than 32K these days! Good luck!
If its a Cab with 23K that sounds right to me. Low miles really seem to affect resale.
Have you tried Capitol One?
Is the car at a dealer or Private party?
32K sounds high, even with low miles. Any extended warranty?
Heck, I'll sell you my 1999 for $23,000.......
Its unlikely that Capital One will loan you money for a car older than 2002. I was turned down for a 2001 with 780 credit.
You might want to try a leasing company and lease it for a price that would give you ownership after a few years with a small buyback. Otherwise, if they are still giving them where you are, a home equity loan works and the rate is low.
If you're insured with State Farm, they will give you a loan, through State Farm Bank on any vehicle, with no age or mileage restrictions.
I financed my 1988 911 through http://jjbestbanc.com/ They finance old cars, just about anything.
