Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi! So I am looking to get a nicer key made for Porsche 987 . The standard one is ugly. I would like the electronics to be on the keyring and a separate key that looks like below. Anyone that has done this? design911 has below key but it does not fit boxsters unfortunately.

It's spendy (and not really retro, I guess) but I got the key from Arid Innovation and it is really nice. The stock 987 key just feels so janky. It's a DIY job; you swap over your existing blade and electronics. Bespoke Porsche 997 / 987 key - The Arid key. you would need to test this but I think the coded pill thats in the key housing (for the immobilzer) would need to be closer to the ignition barrel electronics than hanging on a keyring. I have also heard of people removing the pill and "gluing" it to the ignition barrel module so they can just have spare keys cut without having to pay $500 or something to the dealer

It would be nice to get something more classic. But the keys in the newer cars hold a chip that is matched to the cars security system and it will not start without it. You can get a nicer key fob from a BPD Porsche 987/997 — BDP - Bespoke key kits
