I own a 996 C4S Cabriolet with confirmed MNR code 762 ( Market Launch Vehicle) from Porsche. I'm trying to collect as much information about it as possible. This one has a signed Fahrzeugbrief (ownership document) by Dr. A. Offermann on behalf of Porsche AG. He was Head of Sales Operations at the time (unconfirmed) , and the document is signed on 15 September 2003 - exactly at the start of the world launch at IAA Frankfurt. That means it was Porsche's own car, signed off by a Director against the type specification approved by the Ministère des Transports in Luxembourg just three months earlier. I think it is rather rare to have that kind of document. The car is also highly spec'd. Any chance any of you ever came across the 2003 C4S Cab press-fleet list or remember how many Arctic Silver 762s they built for the launch? Any piece to the puzzle would be extremely useful and appreciated. Would be incredible to get your take or any extra info you might have. Thanks.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

It sounds interesting. Stupid question but have you tried to see is your local opc could offer up any more info? Sometimes depending on who you speak with they can be really helpful

Thanks for the suggestion! No such thing as a stupid question – any info that helps solve this puzzle is very welcome. I’ve already spoken to my local OPC and they provided a slightly more detailed spec sheet than I had before, so at least 762 is now officially confirmed. Current confirmed spec (from NMR): 249, 342, 454, 513, 586, 666, 668, 680, 762, 982, P11, P16, P74, XME, XMP. Arctic Silver Metallic. As expected, they don’t have any knowledge about what happened around IAA 2003 or the old documentation. I have also discovered that Porsche sold the car on 23 October 2003 to a private customer – exactly one month after the IAA ended.
