As many of you might know, I'm a bit new to Porsche, obviously the Cayman S the pull factor. But what I can't understand is why Porsche has both Tequipment and exclusive programs. In their website, exclusive is like a custom job done in-factory, but all I see is custom interiors and some aerokits. So can someone a little less biased to Porsche accurately tell me what is Exclusive and its limits?

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

The limit to your exclusive program is your wallet! Seriously. You want a gun hold built into your center console? Porsche will do it. You want your favorite cow bessie converted to hides, tanned into leather and sewn into your sport seats? Porsche will do it. For a price. Some exclusive items are simply Tequipment items put together in combos that you normally can't order, others go beyond that. For example, if I want speed yellow stitching in my Cayman S I can get it, but only through the Exclusive program and only at a price which is way too high IMHO, especially since this was a factory option on the 996/986 just a year ago. Think of Exclusive as anything outside the realm of what you can normally order and think of it as delaying your car's production (as it has to be sent to a separate building for completion) and think of it as expensive!! But you WILL be unique!
Really? Because what I can't understand is that there are a fair amount of Porsche tuners. After all, why tune the car aftermarket if it can be done in-factory? Is it really 'cheaper' going aftermarket with RUF? Also, I want to go into automotive design, meaning that I want to design my own front fascias, wheels etc. on the Cayman S. Will the exclusive program do this? (considering that I'm financally Bill Gates)
I'm assuming that if you want a custom bumper/bodywork/wheels done by Porsche they would do you a set of one-offs but that the price would be quite high under the exclusive program. Someone like Fabspeed or TechArt makes a lot of bumpers so they can split up their costs among multiple buyers, with Porsche exclusive if they are making just a one-off for you it will be quite pricey. BTW, if you have the resources of Bill Gates, please buy a Cayman Club t-shirt and help fund this site! /fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/teeth_smile.gif It won't be 'exclusive' but we'll thank you for it nonetheless...
lol... I aint a millionaire, yet but I'll try to fund this site if possible. Thanks 4 your input K-man S!
