My car has a CDR22, the display is missing many characters so looking at a replacement. My understanding is that with CDR22, I won’t have MOST so I have an easier install, but what does the M490 option mean for me - is it just that there is an amp and the head unit connects to that as well? Looking at Blaupunkt Bremen or Frankfurt and want to make sure that I’m not buying something incompatible. Speakers have already been upgraded. Thank you

There is currently 20% some sellers on eBay on Frankfurt and Bremen (upto £75) so good value. 2 things, I’ve seen some reports that both head units can feel a bit cheap and poor quality - anyone have any feedback on this - I can’t seem to find a local stockist to see them in the flesh. Second thing I’ve been reading re the M490 - I have dash speakers, door speakers and rear speakers. I understand they are lower impedance to normal speakers due to the amp. Want to keep the amp and not change the speakers as they have been replaced and upgraded. What I am not clear on is how i do this. I’ve seen some harnesses that bypass the amp, which I don’t want to do, I’ve seen other harnesses but unsure if they work because of the amp. Ideally looking for plug and play and doing it myself or is likely to be something I need a 3rd party installer for? Thanks for any info.
Looked at Bergvill and messaged Tore. Their M490 harness is specific to the Continental head units and he doesn’t know the Blaupunkt units, so does anyone know if the connections are the same across the Continental and the Blaupunkt Bremen / Frankfurt…?
