Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Guys First post on the forum. My 04 996 wind shield trim is loose and at two points gaps have appeared where water can get in. Is this an issue and how can this be repaired. Many thanks. Q

POST 2Original post

Quentin! The early 996 windscreen seals suffered from this, and Porsche did a kit to fix it. However, I don't think it would work on a 2004 car, as the seal is different. If it was me, I would want to get it sorted - it is never a good idea to let water pool. I can only suggest getting a new seal fitted. The part isn't expensive (about £30), and the labour will probably cost more.
