Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

15 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

this is a very silly question, but the oil gauge at the right of the pod cluster, what does it show? is it oil pressure? what should be the normal level? Migration info. Legacy thread was 52848

POST 2Original post

RTOM  Migration info. Legacy thread was 52851

POST 3Original post

As far as I am aware it the oil pressure gauge. When the car is warm and idling it should be in the middle and when you put your foot down it should go towards to the top. At least that's what mine does. Whether it's right or not I've no idea!!!! Migration info. Legacy thread was 52857

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

POST 9Original post

Is it also right that when the engine is cold the oil pressure gauge should be be at the top??? Cos again that's what mine does!!! Migration info. Legacy thread was 53519

POST 10Original post

cold engines/oil at idle have a fairly high pressure thats another reason why its best not to give it high revs(say over 3k)from cold as not only are some parts not getting a good covering of oil there's a very real chance of blowing a seal Migration info. Legacy thread was 53551

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post
