Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Can anybody pojnt me in the right direction for the Central Locking wiring diagram. The system has stopped working with all the other things on the same circuit (interior lights, windows, doors, sunroof and fuel cap cover). The fuse on the circuit is ok and the driver's door can be opened and locked manually with the key. This is how the Main Dealers in Cambridge (Jardine Motors) returned the car to me after they had it for 12 months trying to solve another problem. They deny it having anything to do with them and my case is now with the Ombudsman, meanwhile, I need to get my pride and joy back on the road,

If it was a 986 Boxster I'd say water damage to the M534 alarm control module under the left front seat... All the systems you describe come off that control unit. When I first got my 986 in 2018 it had no interior lights or sun visor lights and I eventually traced it back to a failed circuit in that M534 alarm module (which had signs of water damage/corrosion). The 996 coupe (essentially the same for these systems back to the B pillar as a 986) has less chance of water ingress, but it could still happen if the housing for the a/c matrix in the heating system has a blocked drain, or of course just an electronic component failure.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
