Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I was just wondering if anybody on here had ever had the Window wiper stalk give up working? also the cruise control the 2 stalks on the left sided work fine however i left Chester this morning in the pissing rain and had to drive back to Sale Luckily ive put that much RainX on my windows the wind blew all the beaded water off the faster i went ive touched base with Alex our resident trouble shooter and all round genius and he's pointed me in the direction of a similar issue he had but regarding the indicators ive seen a complete 4 stalk unit on ebay for £100 as opposed to design 911s £345 but thought maybe with it only being the 2 right stalks that the issue is not as bad as i thought ? who knows

POST 2Original post

they are complete units, a used stalk would be that option

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Bizarrely enough I went out this morning for a quick drive and the window wipers and washers were all working fine. Mental

POST 4Original post

Could be a dirty/corroded connection on a fuse or relay causing an intermittent problem.

POST 5Original post

It wouldn't be the same issue that Alex nor I had as they were both related to the over-engineered cancelling mechanism for the indicators. Having dismantled a couple of these now, it is more likely that dirty or misaligned contacts could be the culprit for the wipers. If you can get a contact cleaner nozzle in there you should be able to squirt some in without dismantling anything in the car.
