I was looking at Porsche inventories around my area on the dealer websites and I was thinking that the '09 997 convertibles are looking a might large in the backside and not too appealing from the side or rear view. Especially with the top down. I was thinking that the Cayman's roofline and rear end look quite nice and sleek by comparison. I then saw on the table next to me, my wife's new People magazine with a story of how "fat" Jessica Simpson looks due to her new larger rear end. I guess the media does a lot to form our opinions on matters of what is and is not attractive. Hopefully those of us here rely on our personal preference. Do you like the rear end or not...the car I mean. Kind of an out there, space cadet topic I know, but any comments out there? Guess the winter is getting too long and I want to get my little red car out on the road again...

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I'd take both.:hilarious:
Last Saturday I had the pleasure of following a 2009 carrera cabrio, top down for a couple of blocks. The rear didn't look any bigger than the '05-'08s. My perspctive was from the driver seat of my range rover, so i was looking down on the car. Maybe it looks bigger from a normal sedan height? I am not such a fan of the new front bumper on the 911s, but i love all the changes to the cayman.
Maybe I was damaged by hearing Sir Mix A Lot when I was a kid, but I like the substantial rear end on the 911s.
Now if only the car also had a Jessica Simpson front end!
All you need is to stretch the plastic bumper in front, put a blingy body side moulding high up the side of the car and install a clear bra. And next to it, a car in blue and white with a silver roof which ejects body parts in the direction of opposing cars!
Poor Jess, living in the public eye like that. I sense her life is all sorts of upside down right now. And, I liked here better before the new front side was installed, but that's me. I have to say, looking at a 911 from behind is incredible, despite the fact that I do believe the cars have gotten way too big. I think our Caymans are too big.
I really like the look of the present 911s. I particularly like the hips. But I am latin so that may explain my preference.
+1 I don't like the fake front ends either, but give me the hips of a 911C4 any day of the week.
JLo does not do it for me and neither does current 997 styling. For me the 987 body style, front and rear, just looks right. Mark
