Just in the dealership today and had a look at the new 997. The exterior mirrors look awful. Really cheap and big! Like dumbo ears. There was last year's 997 sitting beside it and the mirrors were much more elegant like the one's on our Caymans. What's with the change to the bigger mirrors with the shoddier plastic housing? Is it a Euro-safety mandate? I'm noticing all new cars have these new big ugly mirrors.
It is the law in Europe. You will have to take it up with your elected Euro representative if you don't like 'em...of course you have to move first.
Interesting. Never knew that. Good to know, because I'd noticed it on a few new models (new Audi TT, new MB C-Class, new Golf GTI) and I kept thinking why are all these cars coming out with big truck mirrors on their beautiful cars? Oh well, maybe I'll keep my '07 Cayman even longer then. :cheers:
