Are all 996 3.4 motors from the different respective model years cross compatible assuming you were to swap over the ancillary components from the original engine? I assume there is no difference in the actual engine between manual and tip?

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

I dont think so, I'm sure someone more knowledgeable than me will confirm. I know the fuel rail on my 2001 3.4 is different from earlier 3.4 engines and again different from the 3.6 motors. Porsche only part as well (ker-ching for Porsche). I'm sure there will be some common components but I dont know what they are.
