Had my suspension top mounts and bump stops replaced earlier this year and while the squeaking has gone away, it's developed a light knock on negative travel (dropping off speed bumps, drop curbs, etc.). I've got the torque as 35Nm and loosened them off and re-tightened one at a time and they felt roughly as tight coming loose as they did tightening - to my calibrated hand. 35Nm however did not feel that tight for a 12mm (if my memory serves right) hex. Anyone able to verify this is the correct value? Im pefectly willing to accept that there was always a knock and the squeaking top mount was just masking it before.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Yes, that’s close enough. Per this thread on Rennlist, the strut mount to body spec is 24 ft-lbs, which calculated out to 32.5 Nm. Torqued to spec, it feels like it could be turned much further. Other sources of knocking can include your drop links (sway bar links), lower control arm, or tuning fork (diagonal control arm). I too, had some knocking until I overhauled my suspension. Because I did the drop links first, and the knocks persisted, I concluded my lower control arm was the source of the sound. I actually reused my diagonal control arm because it had no play after removal for inspection.
Thanks, trying to rule out the "free" things first
I gotcha. You can disconnect the link from the sway bar as a simple test to see whether the link is responsible for the noise.
Yes, its 33Nm in the Porsche workshop manual.
