Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Dear All, I am new to the club and just finding my way about. I have loved my 2002 Targa for almost 10 years. I have enjoyed a few fun cars over the years from Lotus Esprit S2, Scimitar, and Morgan +4, my 996 has been by far the best across the board. I have however a problem with the roof and would like it to be totally overhauled. My local garage has isolated the motors so that everything is closed and inoperable, just in case I open it and cant close it again. Is there anyone out there who can help please? Many thanks

POST 2Original post

Not sure where you are in the country but in the South of England Precision Porsche (Sussex) and Northway (Reading) are very well-regarded in the field of sliding Targa tops. Certainly, if and when mine needs work I will be heading to one of those.

POST 3Original post

I've also got the infamous roof trouble.....brace brace for a big bill. Anyone any experience in the Midlands doing these? Ive also heard that the two indys mentioned are good with these....& not all will touch them.
