Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Newbie looking for help. Check engine light has come on in my 01 911. Less than 60K miles. Car seems to run fine. Code is 0420 which is "Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (bank 1)" The car has a modified exhaust if that helps. Can anyone help me understand what this means and what could be causing this error? Thanks.

POST 2Original post

Hi, Your catalyst is not operating as well as it should on cylinders 1 - 3. This error can be caused by excessive amounts of stop and go driving. I would suggest taking it out and letting her rip and see if the problem corrects itself. Otherwise, you will be looking at a catalyst in your future. Does your custom exhaust allow for both oxygen sensors on both banks?

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
