Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Guys. Have any of noticed this before on the rear of your Carrera. I’ve tried capturing it in a photo, it looks like a film of dust but definitely seems to be metallic. I’ve recently fitted a new stainless system including the manifolds, I’m assuming as that’s all new this is where it’s coming from, what do we think? I might add she’s running great and sounds superb

POST 2Original post

As you said probably from new exhaust and manifolds.

POST 3Original post

Random tests but wipe some off and put it on a wet paper towel and see if it rusts. If they don't, they're very likely stainless (or aluminium) and won't be cylinder internals. I'm putting my vote with angle grinder / wire brush debris from the exhaust fabrication too though.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks yeah I’ll try that. I’m wondering if it’s from the silencer wadding, if it’s like a wire wool sort of content. Mind I’ve only noticed it since fitting the manifolds. I’d had the 200 cell cats and silencers on previously and hadn’t noticed it!

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
