Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hello 996 Rennlist, I've been a long time lurker (years) and a while back created an account in case I ever need to ask a question. I have a 996 targa that I absolutely love and get a lot of daily use out of, but I wanted to know if anyone has every seen the optional roof racks you could get for them. I plan on using it for some long road trips in the near future so additional storage would be fantastic (roof box). If anyone has any pictures I would really appreciate it, I don't want to buy them sight-unseen if they turn out to look like the convertible roof rack (which I am not a fan of).
Thanks in advance!
Agree with above. I have a 996 targa and do not see any attachment points for the OEM rack. May need to be an aftermarket solution if anything is available.
What are you looking to mount on the rack?
It has to be out there somewhere. I first got the idea about a roof rack for my 996 Cabrio when I was going through one of the owners manuals and I saw the various options from factory. Take a look in the 996 targa manual, if it exists it should talk about it in there. It may be unobtainium. Also Porsche classic is now starting to pick up steam at a dealership level. Porsche is heavily invested in supporting older generations these days, and they may be of assistance
happy hunting. Will keep an eye out
By looking at the owners manual for my 2002 Targa it reads the same as the coupe, cabriolet and targa. No images in the manual of the RTS (roof rack) on page 48 they say to contact the dealer about a RTS. PDF attached of pages that mention RTS and weight capacity.
