Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

13 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Recently bought a used stereo surround from a Porsche 996. Seller claims the silver paint is original and that he's seen Porsche parts with primer in that "gum" colour before - I think he's having a laugh and it's clearly a poorly painted piece that was previously from a "Savannah" coloured interior. Who is right?

POST 2Original post

It looks like it’s been repainted but that not that unusual as they mark easily

POST 5Original post

Looks like very poor adhesion of the paint. They didn't key it enough.

POST 6Original post

Most people would try and cover up Savannah with something

POST 7Original post

To make it worse, not only have they painted it badly, they've stuck some crappy carbon wrap on it too

It's not a wrap, but don't let that stop you signalling your obvious superiority.
