Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Can anyone help me. I am very keen to read the Car Of The Year feature in Evo issue no 3, from January 1999. The recently launched Carrera 2 won, beating some stiff competition. Can’t seem to find a copy of the transcript on line or even a physical copy on eBay. I have recently jumped on the 996 band wagon. With my first Porsche, a 996 C2 manual coupe (steady choice). I have been a keen reader of Evo Magazine for many years.

Thanks for the link. Appreciate it, but that is a 25year anniversary article written in 2023. The original article, written in period, doesn’t appear to be available on the Evo website,

Worth also noting, along an ever-growing sense of nostalgia amongst the Evo journalists, that they revisited this review in July 2025’s edition. The silver 996 they borrowed has the divisive all peppermint green interior…Got to love the 90’s. Good to see the car holds up as well in terms of its feedback as it did then.
