I have a 2006 C4S and sporadically cannot put the top down. The process will start, the top will fold down but the clam shell will not close and the message Convertible Top Not In Limit Position shows up. The issue has been intermittent but is annoying. Appreciate any thoughts or ideas to resolve the issue.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Have you had any success? I experience the opposite problem. I can lower my 2006 997 top without issue. However, when I try to raise it back I get the same "Convertible Top Not in Limit Position". A gentle tug on the top will enable it to raise back and close, however I know this is not a long term fix.
For anyone reading this in the future, I think I found my problem. The headliner had never been in good shape and part of it has become detached. When the top lowered the loose headliner fabric "clumped". I believe that impeded the potentiometer and tricked the system into believing the top was obstructed and unable to open. I taped up the loose material and the top now seems to raise correctly. Unfortunately, I neglected to write down any of the error codes from hooking up the PWIS. If this happens again I will take better notes.
Thanks for the suggestion, I'll see if my liner is clumping.
