Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm sure we've all seen the one on Ebay and possi bly the reddit thread about the same . Does anyone know of the car? I saw a comment say the seller wasn't looking to budge on the price but if it didn't see for £9350 then surely they'd be open to a cheeky offer if it wasn't tooooo much of a shed? I was hoping to buy something lower miles and more sorted but this would leave a nice chunk of budget to sort it out and it has an LSD and a nice colour!

POST 2Original post

That's a polished turd from what i've seen and read about it.

POST 3Original post

That cars been discussed on here before, from memory it’s advertised history and condition were disputed? Sorry I don’t know how to link you to the previous discussion, Maybe someone else can ? I don’t know the car, I’ve never seen it, It’s not first hand information, it has been advertised several places for quite a while now and not sold.

POST 4Original post

Here it is..I started it but we soon discovered "very nice" wasn't really an accurate conclusion. Thread 'Very nice early 996' 9 Feb 2025 If I didn't already have one exactly the same i'd be buying this. I can't believe it's so cheap. The Modern Classic Car Co Some nice stuff in "Cars Sold" too , particularly the Speed Yellow 996. Uncle Monty Replies: 68 Forum: Porsche 911 996 (1997-2005) I've got an identical car now and really enjoying it.

POST 5Original post

If it needs a lot of welding and I think it does then it's a £6500 car as it'll need the same again spending on it at least. Once fixed up it'll be a great car but that £6k rebuild could easily escalate to £20k for instance if 2nd gear is jumping out then you've got a £4k gearbox rebuild...etc etc

The red flags are waving - thanks everyone! Too goo to be true and too bad to look past the warnings!

POST 7Original post

From memory at least 3 dealers have tried to shift this so far aswell as the Bay.

POST 8Original post

That sounds like a perfect candidate for an engine swap and a gutted interior. I have qualms about doing that to a pristine example, though.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
