Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So in my battle of will not to waste a fortune selling my perfectly good C4S and buying something newer and more exotic, i'm doing a few upgrades. One of the ideas that has been floating around the void in my skull is fitting new seats, I really like the look of the Design 911 GT3 style leather buckets that Richard has fitted to his CLR, however having sat in them in the showroom they are too tight for my build, so short of me losing three stone which doesn't seem to be happening ever i need to look at alternatives. Which brings me to the recaro Sportster CS as in the link below http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2x-Seats-...7414d2&pid=100338&rk=1&rkt=22&sd=302192572162 I've seen them finished in the leather with the recaro script also in black so the image shown is for illustrative purposes only as i'm not so keen on the white script. Has anyone had any experiance with these seats or even better fitted them and have some images and opinions on how they suit a 996 C4S?

POST 3Original post

Another thread revival, I’m looking to replace seats in my 996 turbo, ideally folding and lower than the stock seats, I’ve come across some …..Vauxhall Cora’s seats! Which are actually Recaro CS seats, looks like a cheap option if they are lower than stock, anybody know if this is the case?

Vauxhall corsa recaros are not eaxctly sportster CS, they have lower side seat bolsters, however renault clio ones are the full side bolster version Whether they are lower will depend on what mounting brackets you use. They are all a snug fit so may not be suitable if you are long of leg

Thanks, length isn’t going to cause me a problem!

POST 6Original post

For the costs involved I would take a close look at Cobra Nogaro seats. Not folding but with a tilting base on the it could work.

POST 7Original post

I originally wanted recaro CSs but ended up with cobra misanos , which I'm very pleased with (if you want to keep the recline/tilt). They're one of my favourite modifications to the car and supportive seats transform the driving experience. The recaros from what I recall are a little too wide (as are the cobras, but I think it's a bit more of an issue with the recaros) so depending on how far back you want them to go you may need to do some adjustment to the carpet by the seat belt receptacles. Cobra sell some massively overpriced aluminium recliner knobs that are skinnier (but then allow the seat to go a bit further back without interfering) and I believe someone in the States had Cobra make a pair of seats with the bolsters on the base slightly narrower to better fit the 996 - not that it's that much of an issue, but the sides do touch the centre console (but not make any noise). The cobras are a bit lighter than the recaros but feel a bit cheap when tilting etc, although they've stood up well enough in mine (mine were retrimmed in nappa leather):

Thanks, I’ll check them both out, interesting about the tilting base, I hadn’t realised this was a thing, my first choice would have been Corbeau GT3 replicas but I ruled them out due to restricted access for luggage into the rear
