Hi, Was changing the air filter at the weekend and found the breather pipe on the power steering reservoir had perished and broken. Other than stopping power steering fluid dripping on the engine belts I wondered if it has any particular use or significance - otherwise I hope a jury rig with a bit of similar (non OEM) gauge pipe may solve problem. Thoughts please?

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

No other significance that I can think of. They are only £3.92 inc VAT for the genuine article, so apart from the trouble of getting hold of one, it hardly seems worth faffing with a home brew solution.
Thanks - easy one for a change! J
I always say get a price from Porsche first At the very least it will give you an idea of price Very often the cheapest and ALWAYS genuine
