Hi, I am looking at buying a freshly refurbed door handle from eBay as one of mine has a lot of paint chips on it. I could easily remove mine and repaint it myself, but the primer/paint/lacquer would probably cost about the same as just buying the replacement. The seller isn't sure of the paint code but has provided the registration of the car it came from (same 2003 MY as mine), but I can't find a place to look up the paint code by registration. Anyone know of a way to do that please? (I won't post the reg of someone else's car on here, but if someone has the ability to look it up for me I can send by PM). Thanks all!

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Thanks, I had asked the seller for the paint code but was only given the reg. Some of the paint suppliers seem able to mix up an aerosol or touch-up by registration number alone so I assumed they must have access to a paint code/registration database to do so. I will go back to the seller but maybe they no longer have the car or something.
Why not try main dealer for the paint code from the reg..?
