Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

After it has been raining heavily my fan belt slips a little producing that lovely screechy noise on start up. This is accompanied with the low battery warning light coming on. This stays on for about 10 seconds. The whine from the fan belt stops after 3 or 4 blips of the throttle. OPC tell me this is quite normal for the 996TT due to the design of the rear spoiler. All it is, they say, is a little moisture on the fan belt and that it is not slack at all. OPC Codswollop? Or quite common? Migration info. Legacy thread was 99479

POST 3Original post

Mine's (996 C4S) been doing it for the last month or so. No too concerned, as the whine goes in a matter of 2-3 secs. Damian Migration info. Legacy thread was 99552
