Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

I'm surprised there have not been any photos or comments posted yet, so I'll start it off. We debuted the GTR prototype at Sebring this past weekend. This is the same car that K-Man will be driving this Thursday. The response to the car was phenomenal. With all the impressive iron down there, we expected a decent level of interest but it was truly off the chart. I'll let K-Man supply photos and comments from his drive, but I can tell you the initial feedback has been amazing. We did 2 magazine shoots, and 2 road tests for national mags. The car drew a crowd everywhere including our paddock, the Porsche Corral and the REVO booth. I'll post exterior shots to the gallery.

POST 2Original post

How about some track times compared to the GT3s that were in the race or against the corvettes??

POST 3Original post

We have not run the car at Sebring yet, but we will have some track times at another track after this week.

POST 4Original post

Gator: Tell us more about the Fikse wheels and the Euro bumper. What size are the wheels and tires and are body modifications required. About that Euro bumper, are you going to offer individual mods like this to Cayman owners? Of course, we have a million other questions about the GTR and look forward to more words and pictures from Sebring.

POST 5Original post

The Fikse wheels are currently 8.5" fronts and 10.5" rears. The tires are the new Yokohama Advan Sport, 245/35-19 front, 285/30-19 rears. We are working on 11" rears as well. Regarding the body modifications: it is a fairly easy conversion. And the best part is, as with all our modifications, if you ever wanted to, you can put the car back to stock. Most of our mods will be available on an individual basis.

POST 6Original post

Gator, SO 'debut' meant show and not go? Are there any times?

POST 7Original post

Its good to hear that it was so well received. There is certainly a lot of buzz around this car in general and everyone is eager to see how it goes after the tuners get ahold of it. Paul

POST 11Original post

The performance mods are obviously very intriguing, but what Cayman owner want's their car to look like a Carrera? You need a unique-to-Cayman front end...

POST 12Original post

Gator: The car looks truly wonderful. Obviously everyone is very anxious about its overall performance and I certainly hope that it exceeds the expectations just like it's looks. However, I have to second Sleepless'comment, a Cayman-unique styling adaptation would probably sit better with the Porsche community, but I think you'd be the better judge of that than I. I wish Yokohama would make 255/35/18 and 295/35 Advans /fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/confused_smile.gif Best of luck with the project, we'll be watching the progress. Cheers,

POST 13Original post

Gator, If you don't mind me asking, what did you guys do for the diff? Should we wait for the full specs to be releazed for the answer? /fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/embaressed_smile.gif
