I’m looking to buy a 996 in Switzerland. I’ve noticed that there’s a version called “limited edition”. I can’t find any details on-line though. Does anyone know the spec please ? Thanks b

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Is it the " millennium" edition 996...??
No. I don’t think so. The cars have a little silver plaque at the base of the centre console saying limited edition.
Hmmm, I've not heard of this one. Millennium edition and 40 year are the only 2 I was aware of. Can you post a picture of the plaque....?
Millennium edition does have a little plaque i think. seen one on ebay
Many thanks for your response. Please see the below photos - one’s (obviously !) of the centre console - the other is the door sill kickplate.
I’d be interested to ask how much extra over a regular 996 is it valued at?
Is that home made with a laser etcher? Interesting to know what differences makes it a Limited Edition other than the plaques.

It’ll be a way of rinsing more money out of someone over a standard 996 I’m guessing
OP, don't be fooled by this, it's not a limited edition as far as i'm concerned..... perhaps take a photo of the build sticker under the bonnet or in the front of the service booklet and post a picture on here for us to look at. Be mindful that we're here to help you not get fleeced , nothing more. Millenium edition and 40yr are the only 2 limited edition 996's that were made. . All the best and make the right decision........ is the car available on a website to view that you can link..? Si.

Many thanks for all your responses - I particularly like the etch-a-sketch, home-made plaque observation ! In terms of a response, in no particular order, I think that it's a Swiss special, perhaps put together by the importer ? I think that I've seen another one for sale recently and they're well specced - a phone (!), satnav, heated seats, headlamp washers and upgraded headlights. Perhaps more... It's not much more expensive than any other circa 60k miles, 2001, C4. Perhaps 10%, but that could just be down to overall condition. If anyone has any more info or clues, please shout ! Thanks again.

If you've seen more than one I think this is the most likely explanation. It certainly wasn't done at the factory.

Any pictures or links to the importer / dealer...?
