This is happening now fairly regularly. My 996.2 cab, sitting quietly on its own in the driveway, decides to put the roof down all by itself. Has anyone any idea what the problem is?

Is it possible that it's connected to the remote? Not sure on the Porsche however some model cars, if you hold the unlock, all the windows open and the sunroof opens. No idea on the 996 however a thought. If nothing else, a bump to see if anyone else has any ideas.

Hello and welcome to the forum! Apparently this is not uncommon from what I've read. There are a couple of things that people have suggested to look at / the cause - do a google search too - a ton of posts about it. - A bad ignition switch is know to cause a variety of random symptoms. - A low battery will sometimes cause the Windows and top to open. Also I think a wet control module can cause that.
