Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

1 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

New to my new 2010 Boxster and I am trying to diagnose a light issue. The car headlights only work in low beam mode on any of the switch settings and only come on on one of the switch settings - HOME, I think. The dash lights only work to illuminate the leds / no tach, speedo, fuel etc. so driving at night involves a lot of guesswork on rpms, speed, etc. When I pull back on the headlight stalk, the brights go on as long as it is continuously pulled back / then goes back to low beams when released. Is this a relay issue not allowing the switch to jump to bright lites? Is it a stalk malfunction or even a main headlight dash switch malfunction. Or, hopefully, it a new-owner malfunction? Any help would be greatly appreciated. cheers
