Hey all. I'm about to do an oil change on my 4S and thought I'd install one of the oil pans to help manage the oil on the odd track day that I do. I've already lowered the car and its not a regular track machine so I have no interest in one of the deeper pans. Looking around, YouTube seems to make the install look relatively straight forwards. I'll also install some of the M97 oil return tubes while I've got the sump off. Any other tips from anyone that's done this?

aka the improved X51 Deep oil pan The science, savenging and aeration in the oil pan have been identified as a problem in the 996, 997 and Boxster models that experience high g-forces on the racetrack.
and of course it's in Gold so what's not to like! This FVD Oil pan has the baffling concept of the x51 oil pan. It also increases the oil capacity because the pan is deeper. This pan adds close to 3/4 of quart (0.6 liters) of oil over the original x51 pan. This allows for increased oil cooling and engine performance by preventing oil starvation and oil foaming. The Oil pan is also designed with external cooling fins, Which helps to lower the oil temperature. Yup, all of that is why I'm getting it . FYI, wtih Fernsport closing, the UK distributor is now 676limited. I've ordered through them, not had to pay anything yet, we'll see how that goes.
For anyone doing it, I posted my experience in this thread.
