Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Last weekend we headed down from Oop Norf and did some of the best roads around North and mid Wales, i thought id share a few pictures. We had a professional photographer with us so i hope to update with some better pictures at some point! Where did you go to? Any roads or areas worth a visit? I quite fancy a Welsh trip at some point

I essentially used the below as a basis and made a few deviations, its a cracking route! Dragon Loop - Scenic Driving Road Circuit in Wales - Page 1 - Roads - PistonHeads UK

POST 4Original post

I've just checked it out, looks nice a nice route. It seems like the original OP was getting a bit of a hammering about his choice of roads but for me who doesn't know any better I will give it a go when I go back into Wales. When there last year I couldn't believe how nice and quiet the roads were compared to the Lakes.

POST 5Original post

Great pictures. I need to go have a drive round there

That was my take, i had a few roads pinpointed that i'd managed to find from Evo/ Top Gear Youtube videos and what not but otherwise i was pretty blind. Hours of research brought up roads that were all pretty much on that Dragon Loop, except the Southern roads in the Brecon Beacons. It's a shame the Evo triangle is covered in average speed cameras now, i regret not getting a go on it prior to this! Luckily there are some better roads in Wales that dont have cameras (yet!) The lakes is a horrific place for a hoon, great for scenery though! If we go there then i usually take the GR Yaris, i think the 996 would get ripped to bits haha

Definitely worth the trip although most of us agreed we preferred Scotland overall.

I'm well placed for a trip to Scotland being about 20 miles from the border via the A74. Have you got any driving routes up there? I'm not too fussed about doing the NC500

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

If youre 20 miles up the A74 then youre brilliantly placed for a lot of the good borders roads! You mustn't be far off Menocks Pass and the A702 to the South of that, good roads! Moffat to Selkirk is mega, Bonchester Bridge down to Kielder. If we go further afield then we tend to head up into the Cairngorms where the old military road is, 86 miles of bliss! Then we'll loop round and down to Glencoe area, kinlockleven loop, Dukes pass etc. The NC500 is great but we did it in our van, wouldnt see much point going up in a fast car!
