According to information posted on another site, found on the Austrian configurator, the X51 Powerkit will be available for the 997.2 S in 9/09. Same for the Aerokit. These should be available for order when the new order guides appear in August. The PDK Sport wheel w/ paddles will be available 2/10 for order which is essentially a year away in terms of actual delivery. It is likely that the wheel will be a retrofittable Tequipment option.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Did it mention the power hike?
No, the power increase was not mentioned, but the price, including the PSE, was $14K Euros. If you figure at least 20HP (I believe the previous X51 was 26) it takes the engine over 400HP. The current S at 385HP is more than the previous X51 w/ 381HP. The GT3 is probably a better deal although you can't have PDK or a Cab w/ the GT3. Resale of the GT3 will also be much better, as the X51 option never seems to retain much of its value.
And the GT3 doesn't have those kiddie seats!
It will be great news for those power hungry 997 owners who got small kids! The last X51 kit knock 0.2s off 0-60mph; 0.9s off 0-100mph another 4mph to the top speed That will put my car near f430 territory:banana:
I'd buy the 997.2 GT3 in a heart beat if it had the rear seats. It's stupid not to include them, it's still a four place GT. What are they saving? 10#s? I'm all for saving weight but if I wanted a two seater at that price range, I'm buying an R8 or the new Vantage.
Vantage is for posing. I driven one before I order my 997 last year. It just doesn't interact with the driver like a Porsche. Worst if you had experienced what a proper sports car like the Cayman S, its difficult to find a car outside Ferrari or Lambo that drive better! R8 is a good car but the V8 is slower than the current M3. I cannot live with that! I would love to own the 10 cylinder version but if I can afford to buy that sort of car, I will skip the Audi and get the legend--Ferrari F430
I don't know. I drove the N400 at the track and loved it. It was raw, powerful and responsive. Still think the GT3 should have the seats. It's not like they made it a mid engined and got rid of the space, they've just limited the usefulness of the 4 seater. It' not that raw of a car to begin with. Agree about the 430 though, especially the scud.
