Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm still looking for a 996 C2 for circa 25k. The ones sold by respectable dealers for this price are all 1998 models. I hear some stories about problems with the earlier cars of the 996 series. Is this something to worry about? Or should i be covered by having a 3rd party inspection done?? many thanks Marlof Migration info. Legacy thread was 110888

POST 2Original post

I have looked at a few.. Can't find the a nice one (as yet).. I have been worried about the early cars too, but after a chat with Peter Morgan I have been told as long as a PPI is done, not too worry too much. He said if the car has done 40-50k with no problems it should be ok... Hope this helps.... Migration info. Legacy thread was 110892
