Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

1 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

After my 911 996 hydraulic(ed) (sorry about the spelling) mid november i took it to Swifts/David Underwood in sheffield, originally thinking that the cylinder liner had gone pourous, the engine was stripped. it later emerged that the piston rings (especially the scraper ring) had failed letting oil get past the pistons, into the engine and through the exhausts (not good!) two and a half months later i am still waiting for my car to return and feel that i am being fobbed off with various excuses. has anybody had any dealings with them? Also, is it possible to request a OPC mechanic to take a look and get a second opinion? kind regards a1damuk Migration info. Legacy thread was 111893
