Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well today I drove home my new (for me) Boxster. A 1999 model in Guards Red with a black interior. I had a blast driving it home. Of course now I have a question/concern. I had it checked by the local Porsche dealer out and all the problem areas were taken care of. However I did notice something that is concerning me. On the drive home it seemed to me that the steering was "light" like it was over assisted. Is that possible? The steering is precise and the alignment is fine, its just that there is less resistance than I expected. I have only driven 3 Boxsters in my life. This one, and 2 at a Porsche dealer. One at the dealer was very bad, but the second one seemed to have a "heavier", less assisted feel. Of course that was over a week ago. So is it possible or is it my imagination? Rob

Congrats on the new Boxster! Glad to hear you found what you wanted. The steering is very light and easy in ours. It's a beautiful thing.

I don't know how long this link will work but here are lots of pictures (from the selling dealer) http://e-imports-4-less.ebizautos.com/shared/viewer.aspx?iid=844347&src=eBizAutos Its actually the car previously owned by another forum member (he "upgraded" ), small world huh!

POST 6Original post

Congrats on the new car, rteichman! How does one upgrade from a Boxster!! Small world...not really...big Forum!!!!

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Why by getting a Boxster S of course

POST 8Original post

Light steering, heavy steering: A moderate difference in the amount of air (3 lbs) in my boxster's front tires seems to change this for me. That could be the difference in the cars you drove. Just a guess.

POST 9Original post

Hey, Great looking car! I was wondering about those Eimports for less guys. I am in South Jersey and had seen a few Boxsters and 911s they had prior to buying my current car. I ended up buying from Brandywine Porsche however. Best of luck with the car. I hope now that the bugs are worked out, it drives as nice as it looks!

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well the guy who traded it in bought one from them so you have 2 people on this forum who have bought from them...if I have a problem I'll let you know.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
