Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Does anyone know the easiest way to remove a number plate from the rear PU on a 996. Have tried levering it off but it's stuck on tight. many thanks Ed

POST 2Original post

You need a knife with a long and very flexible blade. A smoked salmon knife is ideal.

POST 3Original post

Try gently warming it up with a hairdryer too. It usually softens the adhesive.

POST 4Original post

Sorry, can only afford battered cod in my house.... To keep the fish theme try a short length of nylon fishing line. Gently saw through the adhesive pads. Works a treat. The adhesive can be removed with some cod liver oil, chip fat or whale oil but white spirit is easier.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Not owning a hairdryer or a Boxster for that matter, I'll give the fish slice/fishing line a go. Thanks guys. Ed
