Trying to remove my exhaust tips to polish them up. Removed the 17mm nut and washer, but it appears that the bolt will not budge and go back into the pipe so I can remove the tip.....I have been hitting it with a rubber mallet but it won't budge....any suggestions? Thanks....Larry

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I had the same issue , first i bought the new clamps and bolts @ pelican once delivered, I went to my muffler shop and had them touched off - the rusted bolt and old clamp,, the heat will the trick you might be able to hacksaw them off, not worth the effort
Thanks I think that is what I will have to do, unfortunately....appreciate the response!
