Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

Several folks have commented over the months that the Cayman looks best in light to medium colors. After staring at the shots of the black one in Frankfurt, I'm not so sure. It looks amazing in the black as well. A nice dark metallic color can show curves as nicely as a light color. The lights really snap off of the black. You can't see the grill detail as well, but that is a trade off. I think this car is going to look good in most Porsche colors. Still dying to see a Carmon one.

Check out the additional pics I just put up from JackWood of the Exclusive Cayman S in Basalt Black, looks good to me!

POST 3Original post

Pictures never really do justice to the real thing since they can't capture the dimensionality of the subject. After looking at this car for some time now I don't think you can go wrong with a dark or light color. I prefer standard black to the basalt only because basalt seems to have some brown in it that I don't care for. Can't go wrong with seal or atlas either.

POST 4Original post

I wouldn't kick a dark color out of bed, but I think the lighter colors show the curves more. This is one of the pics that made me think that....

POST 5Original post

Subtle horizontal character lines tend to get lost in very light colors. I think, that depending on where the light is coming from, the rear flanks of the car will not be as dramatic in white as a darker color.
