Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

I ordered the full leather interior but Porsche wouldn't accept the leather door finishers, XTV. My dealer doesn't know if the door finishers are included in the full leather or why Porsche wouldn't accept the option. Does anybody know what is going on other than Porsche ’s inability to build the options listed in the order guide?
POST 2Original post

Same. Same. My dealer 'thinks' those options are included in full leather. But they haven't tried very hard to understand the various options packages. I've asked them to verify with Porsche .

POST 3Original post

So, when you order 'full leather' what exactly is covered?

POST 4Original post

I think the order guides specify this but off the top of my head the dash upper and lower, the seats, the door panels, at least the upper part of the door panels, not sure what 'inserts' are being referred to in this thread. The twin stacks on either side of the radio, the curved piece over the top of the gauges, and a few other misc items I think.

POST 6Original post

The leather door finishers are not included in the full leather package. These are the painted plastic surrounds for the inside door opener.......the silver piece that opens the door from the inside. If you look at the interior diagram in the order guide item 3.2c is 'XTC' and it will show you what part it is. K-Man S pretty much got the full leather content down......the only thing missing was the full leather seats you get with it. With no full leather the back and some side portions of the seats are vinyl. BTW......like most of us have found out......most if not all of the 'X' options aren't available until at least December, 2005.......some even longer.

POST 7Original post

The order guide doesn't specify all theparts that are leather. For example, under option AT it doesn't mention the dashboard which I know is leather having seen Terracotta and Natural Brown. The door finishers are the plastic pieces behind the interior door handles. These were not leather in the Terracottaor Natural Brown and I have no reason to believe the AT Black Full Leather will be any different.

POST 8Original post

The product information guide which was just downloaded today provides the answer to my question. The leather door trim, and many of the other trim packages, will be available in December 2005.
POST 9Original post

Are seat backs also in leather if you get full leather interior? Are you guys getting sport seats? I'm thinking of getting regular seats and putting them in my 997 and putting the sport seats from the 997 into Cayman S . They are both black and manual so I think they should be the same. The 997 is more of my daily driver, and I find regular seats a little more comfortable.

POST 10Original post

Yes, I believe the whole seat is leather when you get the full leather interior, but the sport seats will always have a painted backing. In all honesty the normal seatsare great.......even for most sporting driving. The sport seats just look a little better in the car and do offer a little better thigh and torso support.......but they are not 'light years'ahead of the stock seats by any means which are quite good to begin with.

POST 11Original post

is there anyway to get cloth? maybe in the base cayman ?

POST 12Original post

I didn't see cloth in the order guide or product information. I am not sure about the non S version. One interesting thing, the product information contained the following that I haven't seen elsewhere: 'On the standard seats the centers of the seat cushions and backrests come in high-quality Alcantara.' It will be interesting to see if this feature makes it into production.
