Just spotted this on a thread on Rennlist here , Hartech's US partner Slakker Racing Developments posted this regarding different engine modifications and their effectiveness. Very interesting for anyone looking at tuning one of the M96 engines. Short version, the only real way to make dyno proven power gains is traditional NA techniques of porting/polishing, cams or increasing displacement. At least for a 4.1l engine. though I'd be surprised if that doesn't hold for a 3.4 or a 3.6 too.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

That does sound interesting, I know Hartech were looking at 4.1's but I've never really seen too much info on them.
Thread 'Hartech rebuild and upgrade to 4.1 UPDATE - 5000 miles in.' 6 Dec 2022 I thought it might be helpful to start a new thread outlining what happens over the next couple of months following our 997.1 C4S as it has a rebuild and refresh at Hartech.
