Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Does anyone know how often the navigation DVDs are updated and what they cost to purchase? I noticed that the GPS DVD that came with my March build/April delivery is last year's DVD.

POST 2Original post

Yup would be great to find out as my DVD can't be that new as when I drive down the A1 (motorway in the UK) it disappears half way through and it looks as if I'm driving on a field!!! My old sat nav in my Audi was up to date, so would be nice to get hold of an uptodate dvd?? anyone know where we can get more info from?

Once a year. Go to www.navteq.com , they make the the navigation DVD's for Porsche, M-B, etc. Regards, riamga

They update in Feb each year - but they apparently don't sell the updates direct to the public for our Porsche. My guess is for a new car like the Cayman you have to get it through the dealer. However, your dealer may not have a clue about this stuff as the difference - perhaps a serial production date showing Feb 06 - may not be obvious.

Guys by the way, the PCM DVD shows an upgrade of 2.1, updated in May 2006....Just picked up the car and read the sticker on the back of the DVD pack...

Upgrading the maps is too expensive. I just buy copies from other forum members for the navigation in my M.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
