Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Everyone, Sorry if this may have been covered before, Searched with no exact match or definitive answers. Hardback seats currently in an early 996, 98 year, C2, (They are not from factory) They are in and fit however don't work / not wired in. Is there a thread or directions / video of this being done? I don't really know where to start as I have searched high and low with no luck, any help greatly appreciated.

POST 3Original post

Is it just the recline function or are they heated too?

Yes before I came here...

Not honestly sure, how can you tell if they are heated.. by removing it and looking underneath?

POST 6Original post

I think the inserts in the centre are faux leather rather than real. So does the recline function not do anything when you tilt the switch on the side?

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

They look like real leather to me (Graphite Grey embossed hardbacks) Neither side does anything on seat buttons. Drivers back is really far back and its so uncomfortable to sit in.

You might get a few pointers here: How to wire '06 996 seats in early car? - Pelican Parts Forums Anyone know how to wire a 2002 996 8-way electric seat in a 80's 911. The driver's side is the tough nut to crack as it has 7 wire harnasses that plug forums.pelicanparts.com

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'll have a look, Thank you.

POST 10Original post

Also, depending which seats they are, I think they came with different level of automation. Some are only electric on the tilt & I think some were fully electric.
