Hi I am relocating the HVAC on my 996.1 to the lower position so that I can fit a double DIN head unit. I have relocated the cables to the right place, but my issue is that I can't push the unit fully home to put the retaining screws in. It just seems to jam. Most Youtube videos seem t say 'just slide the unit in', but mine doesn't seem to want to do that. Can anybody give advice? Thanks

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

I had the same issue when I did mine about a year ago. I don’t entirely remember the solution (sorry) but it can be remedied. I’m trying to remember.. is there anything screwed onto the back of the unit that can be removed?
Thanks for replying. Doesn't look like it. It's the 'fins' on the sides that seem to be fouling.
