Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Question for the Sages: A buddy and I have turbo cab's (996 and 997) that have started to see weeping around the bottom of the spoiler rams. Both still work, but given the cars are over 12 years old, we would like to proactively fix before failure, and definitely fix before lots of pentosin fluid leaks onto our nice paint. As the consensus from the Pelican forums seems to be that the original hydraulic ram design is ... lacking ..., we are both interested in replacing with electric motor systems, as Porsche did in later turbo's. I read that the kits have a two year warranty, but wonder if anyone with a kit older than that could comment on reliability; or with a newer kit, comment on general reliability and how any warranty claims were handled. Thanks in advance and Happy New Year to All!
