Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I am doing a mini refresh on the front suspension of my 2002 996tt, as expected the hub carrier pinch bolts were pretty stuck. Anyway, they are now unusable and I'm starting to rebuild the struts. However I can't find a part number anywhere for the nut and bolt required. Does anyone know what the part number is?

POST 2Original post

If you look at Porsche parts diagrams for 996t available on Porsche website then pic of hub doesn't show bolt but neither does pic of shock absorber which is page 402, however just under the part number 1 listing for the shock absorber there is a bolt which is 12mm x 70mm long x 1.5mm thread pitch. Also a 12mm nut. Is it a nut and bolt if so I'd measure it and see if it matches! Strongly there are two part numbers for the bolt but they appear the same 900 378 138 01 12mm x 1.5 x 70mm 900 378 138 09 12mm x 1.5 x 70mm And the 12mm nut 900 084 445 09
