POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So I was hesitating to post this professional video since my 996 is only seen shortly in this profile that the Avants club did on me and the star is really my 993. However, the 996 community is the only rennlist forum I participate on so whether you like it or not, you are my peeps and I think it was edited pretty well. So here is the 2 min video...let me know what you think. https://www.avants.com/news/member-profile-christian

POST 2Original post

VERY cool! That’s a really professional high quality video. Avants looks like a really good club. The benefits look excellent.

POST 6Original post

Sweet video! Too bad I don't live in the Seattle area! (How long did you have to wait for the sunny day to take the video?)

POST 7Original post

The video is fabulous. About as good as it gets.

POST 8Original post

The producer for your video did a great job instilling the passion you have for your cars. It's wasn't overdone to make Avants look great, but complimented YOUR message with beautiful imagery and subtle music. (nods)

POST 9Original post

That's awesome....and it's always nice to see people behind the posts. Thanks for sharing!

POST 10Original post

Great video. I love the story behind your passion for cars and nice to see another "seasoned" enthusiast enjoying the journey.

POST 11Original post

Excellent! Congrats on being able to live the dream...

POST 12Original post

Awesome video! Same way I feel about my 996 and about the other people in the local PCA (both CWR and PNWR) who are so passionate about their own cars. Being part of such a great community of cars and enthusiasts is something special. Thanks for sharing.

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks guys for all the kind words...You gave me some good laughs, particularly the "seasoned" comment....which I will rebut and say that my body may be in the 50s but mind is still 17 (excluding the occasional demetia moments). So to answer some of questions: 1) Seattle in the summer has no rain and is spectacular for about 3 months. Winter sucks....I moved here from dallas 11 years ago and I totally miss the sunshine and the lack of rain...I hate driving my cars in the rain. The only positive is no hail. 2) Avants….what can I say....I have always been a Porsche guy but when I traded in my GT3 for a Huracan, My Porsche community did not really embrace the concept. Avants started about 1 year ago and its an everything club that has events where you can either ride along with others or even swap cars...plus some amazing benefits and discounts in the seattle area. The best part is the diversity of people, cars and ages. Frankly I learn so much particularly from the younger folks who have the passion I did (I see myself in them), the love they have for their cars regardless of make and the best part is how innovating the youth that are DIY. Really can't say enough about Avants. Porsche Club tends to be old folks...and don't take this wrong, but I don't want to be around old folks , they just make me feel older. But honestly, this is the same thing I like about the 996 forum its a diverse group...I spend zero time on any other forum....you guys are awesome. Finally here is a picture of one of my walls in my office with my original hot wheels from 50 years ago....and here is the best part, I still buy hotwheels and have them stowed away cause I don't want my wife to see me hoarding. :-)

POST 14Original post

I get it completely. My 64 year old body has a 15 year old mind. You're only young once, but you can be immature forever.

POST 15Original post

Nice video - I miss my 79 308 Ferrari often - Not a great car for these roads around downtown Seattle but had lots of fun with it. I would be very hesitant to have a public video of my collection showing location/etc. of my cars. Personally I have never disclosed where I keep my few 356's - They are safe away from my home but only 1 or 2 close friends are aware of their location and only reason is my lippy mouth when I had too many Martini's. Seattle has grown and with it comes the rise in crime and stolen cars. All the best.

POST 16 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Trust me, I thought of that which is why my cars are 30 miles away from where I live. :-)

POST 18Original post

Super cool, thanks for sharing and gorgeous collection! Would love to know more about the early model. I think most of us here feel the same way about cars-- my childhood was much the same. Even now, the best part of my day is arriving at my garage after work knowing i can spend as much time as i want wrenching or just looking and grinning. And totally agree about the 996 crowd. I wasn't optimistic about moving over from the BMW community (which i loved) to the pcar crowd as my lowly 996 would be viewed as a lesser Porsche. Not only was that a false assumption, the 996 crowd has turned out to be a bunch of like minded folks even if most of them have me by a few years. It's great to see a DIY mentality that exists here as those are the kind of folks that make a community worth while.

POST 19Original post

Excellent Video. It was very well done and thank you for sharing. Makes me wish I still lived in the Seattle area a little. Maybe when I retire...

POST 20Original post

Thoroughly enjoyed that Christian! Thanks for sharing.

POST 21Original post

Yes this is awesome, thanks for sharing your video with the forum. Great cars!

POST 24Original post

Great video. I've been looking for a group like Avants in the Bay Area, sounds fantastic. FYI, the other day I was buying my daughter toys and saw that Hot Wheels has a Porsche series. Might be worth looking up if you're looking to expand your collection. Hot Wheel Porsche Series

POST 25Original post

Wow, what a beautiful series of video images. The yellow really pops against all that green. Super nice lowpue!

Well, thanks for the pointer....but I already have the series You should reach out to avants and see what they have going on in SF The rest of you....thanks for the kind words on video.

POST 27Original post

very classy production. Thank you for sharing it with us.

POST 28Original post

Christian: That video sure 'smells' like a Petrolicous vid! Nicely done. I suspect that so many of us here on this forum are unapologetic 'car guys', around which revolves our lives. Clearly, you're one and your story absolutely resonates. I was fortunate to be able to not only live and breathe cars my entire life but managed to weave the passion into my work; in my mind, when you can meld vocation and avocation....you've effectively 'won' in the game of life. Thanks for sharing. Bob

POST 29Original post

Ok, Ill give you one area for improvement, OP, lol. And trust me, its not easy to come up with one. But I love to hear and see mechanical fury on videos. I know it might be childish or ostentatious, or possibly rudimentary. But I just love that sort of thing.

Lol...that is the fault of the director and the editors....I was just the actor and followed the script.

POST 31Original post

Anybody know what happened to Christian (aka Lowpue) and why his forum accounts have gone silent? Hope it's positive.

POST 32Original post

I never received a reply to my PM checking up on him last year. I hope he's doing good.
