Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

i have a 2001 c4 996 cab,Im having problems with my radiators, six months ago I had a leak on my right hand rad and duly replaced it the garage who did the work for me said it maybe a sign of cylinder head problems due to the way in which the lower part of the rad fins had distorted. They had carried out a pressure test and all seemed fine, this weekend after about a 50mile trip in the car my warning light began to flash to let me know that my coolant level was getting low I topped it up and It came back on after about 10 miles. When I got home I checked the lefthand rad and sure enough it was the same as the righthand rad was six months ago leaking and distorted. One thing I did notice was that there was a considerable amount of debris in the air intakes where the rads are,it had been there for a long time so I removed it and I thought that was the cause of the rad distortion due to corrosion. The car runs like a dream there are no problems with it other than this,if you could help in anyway I would be very grateful, the car has covered 55k so not that many miles for the year of the car. Thanks in advance Jase

POST 2Original post

ive just had both rads and condensers replaced, it started with a leak from left side and they said the right was corroded and the AC stopped working. I wouldnt worry about the head until you see coolant in your oil and vice versa. good luck
