Hi All! So I am ordering a new set of wheels and tires for my 996.2 w/ cup 2 aerokit. I wanted to get your opinions on the best combo, as I am not a photoshop expert bear in mind the calipers will be yellow, thanks!

POST 2Original post

I voted gold, but would equally go with silver. I am kind of over the dark-wheel movement.

Yup same here. I am bit torn between silver and gold because I am planning to have the calipers painted yellow so it wouldn't work unless I would go red.

POST 6Original post

Gold If that was my car, I would go with RED, with a pair of red side mirrors to match. BTW, that is a badass looking 996 you got there.

POST 7Original post

I'd go gold or graphite. I currently have shiny black OZ, but have considered having them powder coated a lighter color. Black wheels are almost impossible to photograph well. But they do look good in person. I would definitely go with the wider versions.(8.5"F 11"R) That's what I have on my 996.2.

POST 8Original post

I voted gold, like anything but black on that.

POST 9Original post

Silver or graphite would be my standard choice but must say the gold works. Has a JPS vibe going on

POST 10Original post

Voted for Graphite but have silver on mine and needed red.

Gold with red calipers

POST 13Original post

I generally hate gold wheels, but when the color of gold is just right, it can look absolutely amazing. I love the color of gold in your photoshopped poll photos, so I was tempted to pick it, but I think gold takes too much away from the car -- you end up looking at the wheels more than the car -- and there is also the possibility that the gold in real life isn't the same and doesn't look as good as the photoshop (and it's a fine line between awesome and gaudy with gold). For the above reasons, I voted for graphite. It's nice and distinct, complementing the car without distracting from it. Silver is great also. I definitely agree with "anything but black" crowd also. .

Thank you all for your feedback! I have just gotten info from OZ, there is a material shortage which means god know when I would receive anything (at least here in E.U.), meaning it's only silver that is available. Which is fine as I plan to have the callipers painted yellow. While I would love to have golds, but I found a 996 with RG and it looks a tad bit gaudy IMHO.

POST 17Original post

I prefer the graphite I have on my car. Also do like the silver, and the gold is an different combo I see rarely on our cars. Dollar for dollar, Im very satisfied with the look and weight savings of mine! In person, I will say that the graphite color does appear a bit lighter- it really is a nice middle ground between the silver black options. The metallic flake pops nicely in the sunlight as well.

Corso, really appreciate it. Actually it was inspired by the 996.1 C4 cars that came with a very similar silver color. I was going for a contrasted look (light silver caliper, dark graphite wheel). Wanted something different from the the usual red

Gold is very hard to pull off. Glad to hear you are going in a different direction.

POST 21Original post

I saw a tastefully modified black on black Toyota Supra not too long ago. Don't know what wheels he had on the car, but they were a darker, iridescent powder coat. Kinda like the zinc plating on pipes and bolts, but with more blue in it. Calipers were painted blue. The combo popped, but not in a gaudy kind of way.

I agree, but it can be done. Gold centered BBS basket weaves were all the rage in the '80s. I rocked them on three different '80s cars.

@02Z06 You pulled it off nicely with your arctic silver car, looks great- another sweet aero car.
