Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well guys, working on my former coworker's 2002 986 S Tip again. Went to replace the CPS, and of course the hex cap bolt dropped, and it didn't fall on the ground or onto the aluminum belly pan, so I can only assume it went into the transmission. The car starts and runs fine, but we all know it's only a matter of time before a good bump dislodges the bolt from wherever it is and crunches the TC, flexplate, etc. I bought a magnetic wand with a 3.5" flexible end, removed the CPS again for extra clearance, and fished around in the transmission opening, no luck. Any more tricks to getting it out before I start removing parts? Thanks.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Arriving today! Hopefully I can find it. Have others used it successfully to retrieve the bolt?
