Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hey guys, Just wanted to do a quick confirmation that a Boxster center console/shift tunnel thingy will fit no issues in the 2001 996 Carrera. I just want a spare extra center console so I can paint the tunnel then install it after the fact and not have my car off the road while everything is apart. Thanks guys! -Matt

POST 2Original post

Yes, the consoles are the same. The 996 has a removable extension at the back though.

POST 3Original post

I found a picture that shows it pretty well. Front is 986, rear is 996

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

But I'm assuming I can just transfer those extra components from my OG Carrera console to the soon to be painted Boxster and it'll all be aces, right?
